The "Poème de l'extase", is a very profound and expressive piece, and indeed was one of Ysaÿe's prefered works.
The second violin part is the manuscript copy from Ysaÿe's original manuscript (written in pencil and not easily readable... he always wrote with pencil!), he used to accompany his pupils on the violin. This manuscript (with few others) was at the time (1964) in possession of Maurice Raskin, lecturer at the Royal conservatoire Bruxelles, and who was the violin from the "Quatuor Belge de Londres".
