As an original member of both Joe Zawinul's Zawinul Syndicate and Ramsey Lewis's Urban Knights, bassist Victor Bailey has played both contemporary jazz with a rock edge and R&B-laced jazz. His style and technique are second to none, taking influences from such heroes as Jaco Pastorius, and building a session career that has seen him perform alongside countless masters, from Mike Stern and Sonny Rollins to Madonna and Mary J. Blige. This set of transcriptions has been selected from the very best of Bailey's solo work, including the blistering Lowblow and the super-smooth Joyce's Favourite.
