The beautiful melody begins in the violins with the rest of the ensemble playing pizzicato in a supportive role. As the entire ensemble moves to the bow, the melodic line continues to grow until the entire ensemble soars in a magical climactic moment before the tension releases and the group fades to a single note. Absolutely gorgeous and very accessible. Slightly more advanced than Beginning Strings, this series begins to involve more position work and a slightly more complex rhythmic figures. Rehearsal piano is often provided. Ideal for middle school and smaller high school programs. Grade 2 - 2.5.
