The piece Suite Azure was written in 2001and in it, music of South America, which accompanies the composer from the outset of his music career, is reflected upon. The suite captures typical South American temperaments, strikingly full of contrasts, from lyrical song to riveting drama. Demanding technical and rhythmical features may be found there and therefore, the suite is intended for advanced guitarists. However, the individual movements should not represent a contribution towards a world repertory of standards. the suite is rather a synthesis of the above-mentioned inspirations and classical forms and therefore it will do a great service to those guitarists whose knowledge of South American music derives from listening to it rather than playing it.
