Frohe Hirten, also known as Joyous Shepherds is a beautiful aria from Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Part II. In this excellent edition in the original key by David Fetter, the Flute obligato part has been preserved and a Continuo. Piano part with optional Cello fills in for the orchestra. Bach's writing is very special with exceptionally long phrases for both the Trombone & Flute. This transcription can add a lovely touch to a recital.
